University of Birmingham Art Sketchbook
The University of Birmingham is full of things worth stopping to look at. Old Joe towering over campus, the architecture of the Barber Institute, Winterbourne’s gardens, the Great Hall and plenty of smaller details you might normally walk straight past.
This A5 sketchbook features the six-colour University of Birmingham Colour Palette: Nettlefold Green, Bramall Brass, Barber Stone, Great Hall White, Old Joe Brick and Allosaurus Grey. Together they take inspiration from the university’s architecture, art, music, gardens and even the fossils at the Lapworth Museum of Geology.
I sketch the places I visit while researching The Colour Palette Company because drawing makes you stop and properly look at somewhere. With 60 sheets for sketches, drawings, doodles, notes and ideas, this one is ready to head around campus with you.
