I’ve always loved photography. I love the tinkering almost as much as taking the picture. Changing the settings. Changing them back. Shooting into the sun to see what happens. Convincing myself I’ve finally understood exposure compensation, then discovering I definitely haven’t.

I spent more than 20 years working in newspapers alongside some of the best photojournalists in the business. Brilliant photographers who could walk into a situation, see the picture before anyone else and somehow come back with exactly the shot the page needed.

They also appreciated the importance of a cup of tea and a good natter.
