Birmingham UK meets Birmingham, Alabama in 12 colours.
Created to celebrate International Day of Birmingham and the growing friendship between two cities that share a name, The Birminghams Colour Palette brings together six colours from Birmingham, Alabama and six from Birmingham, England in one sweeping 12-colour design.
The Alabama colours take us from its baseball and industrial heritage to Southern food, Vulcan and the beautiful Cahaba Lily. Then we cross the Atlantic to my home city, with colours inspired by Birmingham buses, Mr Egg, the Jewellery Quarter, balti, the Bullring Bull and Black Sabbath.
The result is a bold piece of graphic art packed with references to both Birminghams, with the familiar CMYK values included for designers and colour lovers.
The original Birminghams Colour Palette was created for International Day of Birmingham, with copies signed by the mayors of Birmingham UK and Birmingham, Alabama for display in their respective mayoral suites.
Now you can have one on your wall too.
