The traditional holiday souvenir has had a long run.
Tea towels, keyrings, miniature landmarks and novelty mugs have all done sterling service over the years. We wanted to create something that felt a little more thoughtful.
That’s where our Colour Palette Fridge Magnets began.
Every palette starts with a question: if a place could be distilled into six colours, what would they be?
The answer usually takes us down some fascinating rabbit holes. Local history. Architecture. Sport. Food. Literature. Popular culture. Natural landscapes. The colours emerge from stories rather than scenery alone.
Take Cardiff. The palette combines shades inspired by Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay and Wales’ famous red dragon.
Salford’s palette captures the spirit of a city that has contributed enormously to British culture, from the industrial heritage reflected in its architecture to the music, art and television that continue to shape its identity.
Norfolk draws on beaches, wildlife, waterways, local food and the county’s distinctive landscape.
The finished magnet becomes a colourful snapshot of a place and the memories attached to it.
That’s why they make such effective gifts.
