The Newcastle Colour Palette:

Tyne Bridge Steel – for an icon of the North East!

Town Moor Green – for where the freemen of the city are allowed to graze their cows and also host to the annual Hoppings fun fair in the last week of June, since 1882.

Bessie Surtees White – for the 16th and 17th century five-storey merchants' houses down near the quayside, from which Bessie eloped in 1772 with John Scott by climbing out of a first-floor window. John Scott later became Lord Chancellor of England!

Castle Keep Stone – for the fortress that gave the city of Newcastle its name.

Newky Broon – Launched in 1927, the brown ale with its distinctive label was first produced in Newcastle.

Magpies Black – for the Toon Army!

The palette takes inspiration from Newcastle’s iconic bridges, historic architecture, and dynamic arts scene, creating a visually appealing apron suitable for kitchens, studios, classrooms, or craft areas. Made from durable cotton for long-lasting comfort, it offers practical protection while celebrating the city’s distinctive character. Produced for The Colour Palette Company, this apron blends functionality with thoughtful colour and urban creativity.
