We’re thrilled to announce the creation of a unique Solihull Colour Palette, a public artwork designed to celebrate the vibrant character and distinct identity of Solihull.
Commissioned by Visit Solihull, funded by UK Government and designed by Colour Palette Company designer Stacey Barnfield, this project will reflect the essence of what makes Solihull so special, showcasing its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and community spirit in our familiar gradient of bold colours.
To make this vision a reality, we need your input!
What is The Solihull Colour Palette?
Inspired by similar projects in Redditch, Wolverhampton, Worcester, Royal Leamington Spa, Rugby, and Birmingham, The Solihull Colour Palette will feature a gradient of carefully selected colours, each with a direct connection to a beloved local place, memory, or landmark. Think of the earthy hues of Berkswell’s countryside, the vibrant greens of Babbs Mill Park, or the soft blues reminiscent of Earlswood Lakes.
This palette will be more than a piece of public art; it will be a tribute to the people, places, and stories that define the borough.
How you can get involved
We want your suggestions to help shape the gradient of colours. What do you love most about Solihull? Is it a historic site, a picturesque park, a lively community hub, or pub or club! Share how these elements could be represented through colour.
Some areas we’re focusing on include:
• Balsall Common
• Berkswell
• Bickenhill
• Castle Bromwich
• Kingshurst
• Chelmsley Wood
• Dickens Heath
• Dorridge
• Earlswood
• Elmdon
• Hampton-in-Arden
• Hobs Moat
• Knowle
• Meriden
• Solihull Town Centre
• Olton
• Shirley
